CBSE NEWS: CBSE may mention caste in Class 10 Certificates
The Central Board of Secondary
Education (CBSE) has now decided to give its students who are in or below Class
10 an option to get their caste mentioned in their Class 10 pass certificates. However, as the rules vary
from state to state so also, CBSE has not made it mandatory. Instead, CBSE
has left it to the student to decide whether he or she wants to get his / her

UGC instructs all Universities and Institutes to recognize new subjects introduced by CBSE for admission
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has sent instructions to all universities and institutes to take necessary steps to recognize 13 new subjects introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at Class 11 and 12 levels for admissions to undergraduate courses. "The CBSE has introduced various academic subjects at the senior secondary level. It is imperative that these subjects find a reflection in the subjects already being offered at the graduate level in various educational institutes," UGC (University Grants Commission) deputy secretary Shakeel Ahmed stated in a letter sent to vice-chancellors of all universities. Ahmed added, "It is important that appropriate consideration may be accorded while admitting students to the undergraduate courses at the college/university level." Read Full Article
CBSE News: CBSE adopts on-screen marking system to evaluate Class 10 answer sheets
The CentralBoard of Secondary Education (CBSE), will conduct on-screen evaluation of
class 10 answer sheets through an on screen marking (OSM) system. Bringing
on-screen marking (OSM) system by CBSE for the first time will not only eliminate
any chance of wrong totaling of final marks but also alienate the apprehensions
in the minds of students that any of their answer might have remained

an extraordinary move to improve the quality of learning in India from the
existing culture where many students are forced to learn by mugging,
memorization and at times even cheating during examinations, CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)
has decided to introduce ‘Open Book Examination’ under its new Open Text Based
Assessment (OTBA) system for classes 9 and 11. These questions will be asked from the Open Text or Study Materials
taken strictly from CBSE’s syllabi which have been already released by CBSE. Instead of bringing all subjects under OTBA system, CBSE has
restricted the number of subjects and topics to a few for 2014 as given below with their Download Link directly from CBSE .. Read Full Article
